Sustainability of MBc Herbal Honey

Honeybee collecting nectar on a purple flower

We don’t just let our bees forage on any old weeds. We enhance our plantations with flowering herbs with known health benefits, in a 12 monthly flowering cycle, to encourage bee survival and enrich bee produce.

At the MBc Research Parks, our honeybees also act as "teaching assistants“, our bees also play a key role in our free sustainability and science educational programs for local schools and communities, both within Australia and internationally.

Bees complete the loop in the circular economy by ensuring that all aspects of our meticulous processes are interconnected. Not only do the bees produce honey and other valuable ingredients, but they also play a vital role in sustaining our plantations and local biodiversity through pollination, improvement of soil health and preventing diseases.

Our MBc Herbal Honey is produced by bee colonies at our Research Parks in Victoria, where they forage on a diverse selection of medicinal herb varieties. The principle of a circular economy is embedded in everything we do at the Research Parks. It is here that Max Biocare’s scientists have developed and implemented a unique plantation program designed to provide food for bees, ingredients for research and innovation, and a space for community outreach-ultimately contributing to a sustainable future.
